She first made an appearance as a filmmaker with the short film, THE GOD WHO SEEKS, with Nicole C. Mullen. In the film, the two wrote the music together. Gifford is a patron of many charities for children, including Childhelp and the Association to Benefit Children. They gave birth to Cassidy's Place and Cody House, named after her kids. An ardent humanitarian, she was awarded an honorary degree in the form of an honorary degree from Marymount University for her humanitarian efforts in the field of labor relations.
